Mobile App :
Persepolis Village is a free language-learning app that provides video lessons, transcripts, flashcards, quizzes, and progress tracking.
Information We Collect
Persepolis Village does not require users to create an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, passwords, payment information, location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or other sensitive personal information.
Local App Data
The app stores some learning progress locally on the user’s device, including completed lessons, saved videos, saved phrases, flashcard progress, playback speed, text-size settings, and resume positions.
This data stays on the user’s device and is not sent to Persepolis Village servers.
Video and Audio Content
The app plays video and audio lessons hosted through third-party hosting services such as MediaFire. When a user plays a video or audio file, the device connects to the hosting provider to stream the content. The hosting provider may receive technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, and request details according to its own privacy practices.
Notifications
If the user enables daily reminders, the app may request notification permission. These reminders are used only to help the user continue language practice. We do not use notifications for advertising, and we do not collect personal information through notifications.
Analytics
The current version of the app does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. If analytics or ads are added in the future, this policy will be updated.
Links to Other Websites
The app and website may contain links to external websites, including persepolisvillage.com and third-party video hosting pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
Children’s Privacy
Persepolis Village is intended for general language-learning use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
Data Retention and Deletion
Learning progress is stored locally on the user’s device. Users can clear app data by using the app’s reset option, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the app.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or store personal learning progress on our servers, we do not have server-side personal data to delete.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the app and website. However, no internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

Subtitle Uploader and YouTube API Services
Persepolis Village provides a private desktop tool called Subtitle Uploader. The tool helps authorized channel owners and managers upload subtitle files to videos on their own YouTube channels.
Subtitle Uploader uses the YouTube Data API v3 and Google OAuth 2.0. By using this tool, the user also agrees to the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
Information accessed
After the user grants permission through Google OAuth, Subtitle Uploader may access:
- The ID, title, and privacy status of a selected YouTube video.
- Existing caption-track information, including caption ID, language, name, and track type.
- The permission required to create or update caption tracks for videos managed by the authorized Google account.
- OAuth authorization credentials supplied by Google.
The tool does not request or store the user’s Google password.
How the information is used
The information is used only to:
- Confirm that the selected YouTube video is accessible to the authorized account.
- Identify existing subtitle tracks.
- Upload new subtitle files to YouTube.
- Update an existing manual subtitle track when requested.
- Avoid replacing automatic caption tracks accidentally.
- Display the result of the operation to the user.
The tool does not use YouTube API data for advertising, profiling, surveillance, analytics, artificial-intelligence training, or any unrelated purpose.
Subtitle files
Subtitle files are selected from the user’s local computer. Their contents are sent directly to YouTube through the YouTube Data API so that they can be attached to the selected video.
Persepolis Village does not upload these subtitle files to a separate Persepolis Village server.
Local storage of OAuth credentials
Subtitle Uploader stores the Google OAuth authorization credentials in a local file named token.json on the computer where the tool is run.
This file can contain an access token, refresh token, authorized scope, and token expiration information. It is used so that the user does not have to authorize the tool every time it runs.
The token.json file:
- Remains on the user’s local computer.
- Is not intentionally transmitted to Persepolis Village.
- Is not sold or shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
- Should be kept private and must not be published or shared.
Other than this local authorization file, Subtitle Uploader does not maintain a separate database of Google user data or YouTube API data.
Sharing of information
Information is transmitted to Google and YouTube only as necessary to provide the subtitle-uploading functionality.
Persepolis Village does not sell, rent, or trade Google user data or YouTube API data. It does not share this information with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
The tool uses Google’s official OAuth and API client libraries to communicate with Google and YouTube over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Data retention and deletion
The local OAuth credentials remain in token.json until one of the following occurs:
- The user deletes the file.
- The user revokes the application’s Google Account access.
- Google expires or invalidates the credentials.
- The application owner removes the credentials.
To remove locally stored authorization data, close Subtitle Uploader and delete token.json from the YouTube_Upload folder.
Users can revoke Subtitle Uploader’s access through their Google Account third-party connections page. After access is revoked, the stored token can no longer be used to access the user’s YouTube account.
Deleting token.json does not remove subtitles that were already uploaded to YouTube. Uploaded subtitles can be managed or deleted separately through YouTube Studio.
If a user cannot delete the data directly, a deletion request may be sent using the contact information below. Valid deletion requests will be processed within 30 days.
User control
The user controls which Google Account authorizes the application and which video and subtitle files are processed.
Google displays the requested permission before authorization. The user may decline authorization or revoke it later.
Subtitle Uploader currently requests the following OAuth scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl
This permission is required to view information about authorized videos and to create or update their caption tracks.
Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect authorization information, including OAuth 2.0, encrypted HTTPS communication, and local credential storage.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their computer and the token.json and client_secret.json files.
